There
are over 400 million active websites on the internet right
now and depending when you are reading this issue, that number
has only increased. That's over 400 million chances that a
potential client is closing your website, not reading your
information, and not calling you because another website is
more appealing and helpful.
"In
the minds of many small business owners, making their website
stand out to their clients is as likely as winning a vacation
trip in a sweepstakes"
The
good news is it doesn't have to be! Whatever your opinion
of the internet might be, I want you to view the internet
as a small business owner's best friend! In this article we
will talk about swimming in profits and not drowning in a
sea of similarity...
"Turning
your website into a client attracting sales tool is easy.
Just give them something to do and provide them interesting
information! "
People
love being entertained. Have you sat in a waiting room with
nothing to do, read or enjoy? The same feelings are expressed
when a client visits a poor, static website. People want interaction
and involvement in a website. You too can have your website
work for you! Post pictures and descriptions of your products
and show outcomes of your services. Offer "before"
and "after" examples of your work and list the benefits
of your company directly related to your potential clients.
To
keep your client coming back for more, give them something
to download. Maybe offer a free desktop wallpaper or monthly
calendar that brings them back every 1st of the month for
the next issue date. Offer free reports or white papers that
are directly related to your industry and field. Ask them
for their opinion on your next newsletter or have them offer
a suggestion for your next article. Put customer testimonials
and responses on your website so they can see what other people
feel about your products or services. You could also offer
a contest that they have to sign up for to win.
"Do
something, anything, and once a visitor is interested, you
"require" the following contact information: name,
address, phone, and email."
Require
any combination of the above and guess what you just got?
A qualified lead. Whatever you choose to include on your website,
remember two important rules:
1)
Make sure it's interesting or helpful. Engage their attention
for as long as you can.
2)
Capture the contact information for your leads.
Whether
or not you choose to use the internet as a tool, I can bet
you that your competition is...or will. Your supercharged
website is your gateway to a larger audience. If you don't
get in on it, you'll be left sitting on the porch with your
product waiting for someone to come by.
